This research is being hosted by University of Washington scientists and represents a large scale effort to compile a global fisheries database of sustainability into one place to be used as a reference of all fisheries and fish stocks. Currently the database covers approximately 40% of the world’s fisheries, and is supported by the FAO, Sustainable Fisheries Partnership, The Monterey Bay Seafood Watch, and other non-governmental organizations. BSFRF support of this research has continued since 2011 with committed funds as part of approved annual budgets.
