This research continued efforts (started with red king crab) to understand adult male snow crab seasonal movements in the Bering Sea using archival tags. BSFRF funded the purchase of tags and coordinated with the F/V Kiska Sea to deploy tags on male snow crabs near the end of the 2009/10 season. A total of 120 archival tags and additionally 221 spaghetti tags were placed on legal sized male snow crab. Archival tag recoveries are expected to continue through present season and beyond and currently 17 have been recollected. Principal investigators of this cooperative research are from NMFS-AFSC (D. Somerton, D. Nichol and R. Foy) and ADF&G (D. Pengilly).
